THREE POINTS

Your website is losing you customers: 5 fixes

September 8, 2026·6 min read

A slow, confusing website quietly sends your customers to a competitor. The good news: you rarely need a full redesign — just a handful of high-impact fixes. Here are the five we start with on every site.

1. Make the phone number impossible to miss

Your phone number should be visible the second the page loads — top-right on desktop, and a tap-to-call button on mobile. Every extra scroll costs you calls.

2. Lead with what you do and where

Within the first screen a visitor should know your service, your city, and why you. "Emergency plumber in Miami — on-site in 60 minutes" beats a vague slogan every time.

3. Cut your load time under 3 seconds

  • Compress and correctly size every image
  • Remove unused scripts, sliders, and heavy plugins
  • Serve fonts locally and lazy-load below-the-fold media

Most visitors abandon a page that takes longer than three seconds. Speed is a conversion feature, not just a tech metric.

4. One clear call to action per page

Decide the single action you want — call, book, or fill a form — and repeat it. Competing buttons split attention and kill conversions.

5. Show proof above the fold

Reviews, star ratings, and recognizable logos build trust before the visitor reads a word. Put your best proof where nobody has to scroll to find it.
